To do in Essaouira:
The medina
Lose yourself in the streets of the old town, and discover the charms of Essaouira. Go to the fish souk, on the ramparts and cross the local artisan shops.
The fish market in the old port, if you feel like it, grill yourself a fish next to it.
Essaouira’s beach: on foot, running, on horseback or camel, it allows for a stroll where time flows by itself. And go to the famous sandcastle at the end.

If you want to get out of Essaouira:
Sidi Kaouki: surfers meet there in a bohemian atmosphere
Ghazoua, the famous village where Jimy Hendrix is said to have passed through. Did he write a song there, or just spend an hour, let the urban legend that we like to believe speak!
Iftane Beach, fishing village with a fish barbecue restaurant, at Houssin’s
Imsouane, surfing village 2 hours away, longest wave in Africa, worth seeing, although part of it was recently destroyed…
Taghazout, it’s 2 hours away, but really great for surfing and for a drink in the evening
And Marrakech, not our favourite 🙂 but it is 3 hours away
